Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme (MNSSBY)

The Bihar government has made headlines for devising a creative plan to encourage more students to enroll in graduate or equivalent level courses across the state. To this end, the Nitish Kumar-led administration has devised an innovative Student Credit Card plan that will assist students in receiving much-needed education. The Bihar Student Credit Card Yojana is a loan program that began in 2016 with the goal of assisting students in paying their college expenses. Students who have finished their 12th grade can apply for a loan of up to Rs.4 lakh with low interest rates. Students can use the loan to pay for courses like B.Tech, M.B.B.S., B.Aand B.Sc.

The following are the eligibility requirements for applying for the Bihar Student Credit Card:

• The applicant must be a resident of Bihar.
• Applicants must enroll in a course at a recognized institution.
• The student must have completed the 12th grade.
• Applicants must be at least 25 years old to apply.
• It is required that Applicant complete the entire course.

• There is a maximum loan amount of Rs.4 lakh that can be obtained.
• Technical, polytechnic, and general courses are all eligible for the loan.
• If you need money to buy computers, books, or pay your tuition, you can apply for financial aid.
• Only when you have completed the course and found work will you be required to begin repaying the loan.
• In the case of divyang, transgender, and girl children, the loan rate could be as low as 1%.

• The co- applicant’s and applicant’s identity proof
• The applicant’s and co- applicant’s Permanent Account Number (PAN) cards.
• Form 16 and the family’s income certificate
• The applicant’s 10th and 12th grade marks sheet
• The proof of admission provided by the higher education institution.
• The applicant’s proof of residence.

Online Application for the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme

The following is a step-by-step guide to applying for the MNSSBY Student Credit Card online:

• First of all visit, MNSSBY’s official website

• The ‘New Applicant Registration‘ option can be found on the main page; select it.
• After that, you must input your first, middle, and last names, as well as your email address, Aadhaar number, and cellphone number.

• Select ‘Send OTP’.
• Enter the OTP that was sent to your email address and mobile number. Select ‘Submit’ option.

• Once the above step is accomplished, the registration procedure is complete. The login information will be sent to you through email and SMS.
• Go to MNSSBY’s official webpage.
• Fill in the details for the username, password, and captcha. Select ‘Login‘ 
• You must update your password and re-enter the login process using the new password.
• Your personal information must be submitted on the following page.
• Select ‘Submit’ option
• Select the ‘Bihar Student Credit Card‘ option from the ‘Select Scheme’ menu.
• The applicant’s and co-personal applicant’s information must then be entered.
• Click ‘Submit’ once all of the financial and general information has been submitted.
• You will receive an email acknowledgment, so make a note of it.

The Bihar Student Credit Card is not like any other traditional credit card offered by banks or non-banking financial institutions (NBFCs). Because the credit card’s primary function is to provide funding for school, it cannot be used for other purposes than that.
